An athlete in good shape can produce perhaps 300 watts for 4 hours. that is 1200 watt-hrs or 1.2 kW-hr, which you can buy from the power company for about 12a230 kW-hr is a good number, yes, for per capita power use per day. To produce that you will need about 4 cyclists pedaling continuously. With 4 hour shifts, that is 24 athletes. Just to provide power for one person. And that doesn't count losses in the generators, power storage, plus food and housing and equipment for the athletes. so you need 24 athletes to supply the one person, and 576 athletes to supply the 24 . not too practical..[Reply]
